A year ago, the workshop (Chilliwack Opportunity Society), was facing a huge challenge. A $92,000 repair was needed to replace rotting joists, flooring, walls and the roof along one side of the building. Ray Allan, a long time volunteer and friend of the program, stepped up with an idea to do a concert in tribute of the 50th anniversary debut of the Beatles Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club album. He put together a band consisting of himself as guitarist and singer, lead singer and guitarist, Heidi Glaister (also the program manager), Dale Bishop - lead guitarist, Kiki Draven on the drums and Thor Tunold - pianist extraordinaire. On Saturday, June 3rd, the event took place. Many friends of Chilliwack Opportunity Society as well as lovers of Beatles music came out and enjoyed a fun night of music and fellowship. By the end of the night over $1,300 was raised for the Society. Thanks again to Ray for spearheading this event and all of those that came out and helped make this night a success.
